Special Needs

Whatever your condition is, you can rest assured our expert crew is available to assist you in any way to make your trip as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have specific requests concerning health and medical issues,  please contact our Guest Service Department at paxserv@celestyal.com or call us on (+30) 216-400 9821. We will be happy to assist you.

Medical Services

We have a well-equipped medical center with both a doctor and nurse available onboard for the duration of your cruise. The opening hours of the medical center are listed in the daily program. In case of emergency, the medical team can be contacted via the reception desk. You can also schedule appointments with the ship’s doctor at any time during your cruise. In the unfortunate event that you should require onboard medical care, or any medication, your personal account will be charged accordingly. Please do check with your travel or health insurance provider if any of these costs can be reimbursed to you. We will provide you with a receipt that can be submitted accordingly.

Health Issues

If you are suffering from any health issues and intend to travel with us, please inform us by email at paxserv@celestyal.com . In some cases, we may require you to produce a written statement from your doctor certifying that you are able to travel. If you need us to make any special arrangements in your stateroom please send the relevant enquiry to the above mentioned email address well in advance so that we can ensure your absolute comfort as soon as you step into your room.

Medical Treatment

If you are following a particular course of medical treatment, remember to bring along a sufficient supply of your prescribed medication as there is a strong possibility it may not be available from our medical center. If your medication requires refrigeration, please let us know in advance. Also, if you wear glasses or contact lenses, please make sure you have a back-up pair of glasses or a sufficient supply of contacts and solution with you.

Dietary Requirements

If you are following a specific diet, suffer from food allergies or are intolerant to certain foods or ingredients, please inform us in advance so we can advise the maître d’ hotel. You will be able to meet with him on embarkation day to discuss your exact diet requirements.

Pregnancy and Infants

For their own health and safety, pregnant women may travel up to their 24th week of pregnancy provided they are holders of a written certification from their gynecologist advising that they are fit to travel. We advise pregnant women who have not yet reached their 12th week of pregnancy by the date of the cruise to consult their gynecologist to ensure that traveling on a cruise ship will not affect their condition.

For their own health and safety, infants under three months are not permitted on board. If your baby is older than three months, please feel free to bring him or her along. If you require a baby cot, please advise our Reservations department at the time of the booking in order to ensure appropriate stateroom allocation. Please note that baby’s formula is not available on board our vessels. We do not carry baby food on board, nor do we provide a babysitting service. For more questions about traveling with your baby, please contact our Guest Service Department at paxserv@celestyal.com or call at (+30) 216-400 9821.

Note: If you or your child have a specific medical condition please contact us well in advance as not all cases can be supported.

Guests with Disabilities or Impaired Mobility

If you are physically challenged or your mobility is impaired, we kindly request that you provide us with full and detailed information regarding your condition at the time of booking.  A medical questionnaire will be sent to you by our Reservations department that will help us to properly assess your needs and assign you a stateroom that will make your trip as comfortable as possible.

We always do our best to accommodate, satisfy and support the demands, needs and wishes of our guests — be they medical, dietary or otherwise. Celestyal Cruises reserves the right, however, to refuse to book or board a person with a disability or impairment in mobility if we believe, in the case of this person, that we cannot ensure safe transportation and a safe stay on board.

If we believe there might be a safety issue for you or for your traveling companion, Celestyal Cruises reserves the right to advise that the guest with special health or mobility impairments must have the assistance of a person who will be responsible for and care for all the guest’s needs and requirements. If you or your traveling companion requires personal care or supervision, this must be organized by you or your traveling companion at your cost. Celestyal Cruises staff and crew cannot provide specific constant care or supervision to anyone, nor can we provide any form of medical care for a physical or psychiatric condition.

If you or your stateroom companion require special seating arrangement during meals, etc., please notify us in advance. If you or your stateroom companion must use any special medical equipment during your cruise, please notify us before you book your cruise so that we can ensure the safe transportation and storage of this equipment provided it fits in your stateroom. This also applies to those traveling with specially-trained guide or aid dogs. Please keep in mind that guide or aid dogs need to be fully certified, need to have received all necessary vaccinations and should have up-to-date travel documents. All documents must be presented to our company at the time of the booking.

We have a limited number of staterooms suited for people with disabilities or whose mobility is impaired. Please also be aware that not all areas of our ships are accessible to, or equipped for, guests with mobility impairment. Given these restrictions, bookings for such guests are dependent upon the availability of suitable onboard accommodation. If Celestyal Cruises deems it necessary, the assistance of an able-bodied person capable of caring for the guest for the duration of the selected cruise may be requested to escort the guest with mobility restrictions. All associated costs are the responsibility of the guest. Our ships can accommodate standard-sized wheelchairs and guests are required to bring their own. Celestyal Cruises only carries wheelchairs for emergencies on its vessels.

Celestyal Cruises is not required or obliged to organize alternative activities on board or on shore for guests with disabilities or whose mobility is impaired. Celestyal Cruises does not bear responsibility for the partial or complete inability of these guests to participate in advertised activities or on shore excursions during the cruise.

Please note: for safety reasons, guests traveling with a wheelchair may not be able to disembark in ports where tender boat service is required. Our itineraries include at least one or two tendering ports, therefore we suggest that you contact our Guest Service Department at paxserv@celestyal.com or call us (+30) 216- 400 9821 for further information or clarification.
